IT’S THE HOTTEST ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE GOING AND HERE ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS WE HAVE PLANNED FOR NEXT SEASON: ·20 Regular season games, 1 pre-season scrimmage game and 15 on ice Practices.
·USA Hockey Registration will be done on line at www.usahockeyregistration.com and those fees are not included in AHSHA registration fees.
·5A Varsity Division consisting of pure high school teams. Team can have a goalie from their school, or if no goalie attends the school, a goalie from another school
·4A and 3A Varsity Divisions consisting of combined school teams and the second Varsity team from schools with two Varsity teams.
·Junior Varsity Division of both pure high school and combined school teams.
·Teams aligned based on Division with cross division play.
·Home and Away Jerseys and Home and Away Socks are included in the Registration fees. Additional team expenses may apply for jersey upgrades.
Schedule
·Team Tryouts & Practices scheduled to start early September.
·Regular season games are scheduled to start at the end of September.
·Varsity & Junior Varsity Games will be 75 minute slots and 15 minute periods
·15-minute running times in the 1st period, 15 minute stop time for 2nd and 3rd.
·No planned high school varsity games over Thanksgiving, Christmas break , Martin Luther King Weekend or Presidents Day Weekend. JV Teasms will be scheduled over Martin Luther King and President's Day Weekend . All teams may be scheduled for practices during Martin Luther King Weekend and Presidents Day Weekend based upon ice commitments.
·Playoffs and Championships following the regular season and are planned for March, 2010.
·All teams make the playoffs with teams participating in a “play in game”. All playoffs go to Sudden-Death overtime. Semi-final and Championship games go to Overtime.
·Admissions are free for all regular season games – admission will be charged for All Star, Playoffs and Championship games and proceeds will help fund the Scholarship fund.
Events and Recognition
·All Star Extravaganza – with players honored with both a skills competition and participation in an all-star game by division
·Players honored monthly as AHSHA Players of the Month in each division.
·All State Players selected by the head coaches – first and second team in each division are honored
·Team and Individual Stats updated after each game tracked on Sportability

·All coaches registered and certified with USA Hockey at the Intermediate level.
·All coaches, managers and league officials backgrounds checked
Thunder Program
